Holidays June 30

Belarus celebrates Economist Day

The history of the holiday began in 1921, when Economic Meetings, the highest economic authority in the republic, were created. Already at its first meeting, which was held on April 26, important decisions were worked out, one of which was the need to create a State Plan in Belarus. In the shortest possible time necessary regulatory documents were developed and already on June 30, 1921. The Economic Conference ratified the Regulation on the "Planning Commission of the BSSR" (Gosplan). This date became the day of formation of the State Plan in Belarus - a new tool for economic management. The planning commission, under the leadership of its first chairman Osip Dyly, was engaged in the development of production programs for individual trusts and people's commissariats, in preparing a general economic plan, and in coordinating research and development. For almost a century, the structure of the Gosplan of Belarus has been transformed several times. Currently, his functions are performed by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic. June 30, 1998 in Belarus, it was decided to formally establish a professional holiday - Economist’s Day. Every year it is celebrated by employees of economic specialties, teachers, graduate students and students of economic universities.

June 30 on the folk calendar

Manuel Solstice Day

It was believed that on this day, as on Tikhon, the Sun slows down, i.e. stagnates. Therefore, they gave him such a definition - "solstice." Starting from Manuel, all the vegetation was poured with life-giving juice, flourished and went into wild growth. A young shoot (recent plantings), was gaining strength right before our eyes. Several signs were associated with this day. For example, on Manuel, the peasants tried not to give fire to anyone from their hearth, otherwise pestilence would attack the livestock. To make the hens better race, they boil eggs, making bonfires along the banks of lakes or rivers.

This day was not considered quite good. It was believed that all evil came to the surface of the earth, leading to hassle on people. Different visions are possible, especially the peasants were afraid to see a white cow near their gates. Wickedness usually took the form of domestic cattle, so that they would put it in the barn of the owner's animals. And there you can play pranks: bring pestilence or deprive cows of milk. In the evenings, in order to scare away evil spirits and ward off illnesses, men must be fired from rifles.

Historical events of June 30

June 30, 1898 in Vitebsk the first tram entered the line

It all started with the fact that two years earlier, in February 1896, between the city administration of Vitebsk and a French citizen Fernand Guillen, an agreement was concluded on the construction of a line with passenger electric vehicles in the city. According to the contract, Guillen undertook to build, at his own expense, a specialized railway and power station in the city in order to generate electricity. Guillen fulfilled all the conditions of the contract, and on June 30 the first tram went onto the streets of Vitebsk. After Nizhny Novgorod and Kiev, this was the third city in which they began to develop a new type of transport services, making tangible competition to the traditional horse tram. The length of the first line was 5100 meters. The rolling stock fleet consisted of 18 main and 16 trailed wagons. It is noteworthy that the first tram entered the streets of Moscow a year later, in 1899, and in St. Petersburg in 1907.

June 30, 1908 the Tunguska meteorite fell

According to eyewitnesses, at first in the sky above the taiga, in the region of Central Siberia, a large fireball appeared, which exploded near the Lower Tunguska River. The blast wave of crushing force dispersed within a radius of forty kilometers, felling trees and sweeping away obstacles in its path. The wave was recorded by seismic stations not only in Irkutsk and the surrounding areas, but also in Uzbekistan, Georgia, Germany. In the sky over the crash site for several days, unexplained lighting effects and luminous clouds were observed. The force of a meteorite explosion was comparable to the explosion of a very powerful hydrogen bomb. There are about 100 hypotheses of the origin of the explosion - man-made, meteorite, religious, geophysical and other nature. But to this day, the only one that could explain the origin and significant features of such a phenomenon as the Tunguska meteorite remains unclear.

June 30, 1971 upon returning to Earth after a three-week flight, the crew of cosmonauts of the Soyuz-11 spacecraft died

On June 6, Soyuz-11 set off on schedule exactly at 7-55. The crew’s task was to dock with the Salyut-1 orbital station, create a long-acting laboratory on board and conduct a series of medical, military and scientific experiments. On June 29, the crew successfully coped with the tasks and was about to return to Earth. Having undocked from the station, Soyuz-11 set off on the return trip. The astronauts periodically contacted and reported the situation. At the expected time, the ship made a smooth landing. When the search engines arrived in time, they opened the hatch, it turned out that the crew was dead. According to the commission, the death of people occurred due to depressurization of the descent vehicle. From a sharp drop in pressure, the astronauts lost consciousness and suffocated. Vladislav Volkov, George Dobrovolsky and Victor Patsaev were buried near the Kremlin wall, like heroes. It is interesting that another crew should go on a flight - Kubasov, Leonov and Kolodin. But His Majesty intervened in the case. Case: three days before the start, passing a medical examination, Kubasov revealed a slight pneumonia in his lungs, and was removed from the flight. According to the rules, the entire crew was replaced. Therefore, a team of understudies went into space.

Inna Ulyanova (1934 - 2005), Soviet actress

Inna Ulyanova during her creative career managed to play many roles on the stage, in the movies, even to appear in commercials. Where she managed to come up with a rather comical "Comet" cleaning powder. Remembering her advertising tip: “Try Comet, dear,” many smile even now. The first fame for Inna Ulyanova came not with the main role, as usually happens, but secondary. It was not a very big, but characteristic role - a tipsy lady with a fox from the picture "Seventeen Moments of Spring". Although the actress starred in other films, she was recognized on the street exclusively by this episode. Exactly until the time when the film "Pokrovsky Gate" was released. The role of Margarita Pavlovna became stellar for Ulyanova, and in the morning she really woke up famous.

Mike Tyson (born 1966), American heavyweight boxer

Mike Tyson was born in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Brooklyn's most criminogenic area. The boy was mild, so Mike was constantly harassed and beaten by older children. But a harsh childhood did not break the future champion, but tempered his will. At the school where Tyson studied, a former boxer was a physical education teacher. It was he who was able to instill in Mike a love of sports. Already at the age of 20, Tyson became world champion among professionals. Iron Mike has long been considered invincible. Often, only one presence in the ring caused panic and fear among their rivals. He spent his last fight in 2005, after which he ended his career.
