Pain does not affect the ability of men to experience sexual desire

Canadian scientists have found that pain does not prevent men from experiencing sexual attraction. In this they are very different from women.

The study was conducted on laboratory mice of both sexes. During the experiment, the rodents were placed in a cage with a septum through which only the female could crawl. Thus, she was able to independently determine the amount of time she was willing to spend with the male.

When the female mouse experienced pain, she spent much less time than usual in a cage with a partner. If she was given pain relief drugs, she preferred to stay longer with the male for a longer time.

Similar experiments with males did not give a similar result. The pain in no way affected the sexual desire of the mouse.
