New Year and Christmas are long-awaited holidays for many. Decorated Christmas tree, a table full of delicious food, delicious wines and aperitifs, pleasant music. Under the influence of all this, it’s not surprising to relax and forget about the very important: contraception. According to researchers, 51% of women who responded on a grand scale to the New Year holidays become mothers by the coming fall. And no wonder: under the influence of alcohol, mixed with a good mood, it’s a sin not to indulge in love joys with a husband or a young man.

The Lloyds Pharmacy Online Doctor website conducted an interesting study: as it turned out, a 32% increase in contraceptive orders was recorded on this Internet resource. A survey conducted among 2,000 women showing that one in six of them, due to intoxication, forgot to take a birth control pill. And every seventh - just confused, engulfed in a stormy triumph. 28% of women who celebrated the onset of the New Home away simply forgot to take contraceptives with them.

The director of the study’s online resource noted that the portal’s specialists annually peak demand for contraceptives at the end of November-December. It is when the Christmas festivities begin. Since most women forget to take pills because of the festive fuss, and getting to the doctor at this time of year is rather difficult, the result of stormy festivities is an unwanted pregnancy.
